36 Days of Type is a project that invites designers, illustrators and graphic artists to give their particular view on the signs from our alphabet. 36 days of restless creativity, in which participants are challenged to design a letter or number for each day, resulting in an overall view of the ability to represent the same sign from many different perspectives. A project that aims to creat a space for creation around typography and its endless graphic possibilities.
I joined this project by focusing not on the sign itself, but on its surrounding space. I left a blank space where the sign actually still is, and I created each time a different world, inspired by cubism, abstractionism and surrealism. I always closed the artwork in the same golden frame and in each artwork I placed a different object without any sense and not linked with the letter, number or whatever.
